Faith and Art
Last night my family and I went to the opening of a new art exhibit here in Spartanburg at the Cultural Center. My pastor, Kirk Neely’s sons (Kris & Scott) were displaying many of their pieces of art. The Life Breaks Open exhibit that they presented was awesome. It was great to see local artists in Spartanburg being highlighted. It’s also refreshing to see artists combining their faith and art form. While I was at the opening I passed by a couple of pieces of art by two of our own Morningside teenagers. Cathy Dodds and Kaylie Hyatt both had pieces being displayed at a Spartanburg District 7 exhibit. Congratulations Cathy & Kaylie I loved your work. Continue to allow God to use you and your talents for His glory. Here is one of Cathy’s pieces.
Send us to the Nations
I just got an email from Jarod, the worship leader from Centrifuge, today. I sent him and email to tell him about how we used “Send us to the Nations” as our theme song for the Mission Omaha Trip. He wrote back and told me that he has posted it on his band’s website. Check it out! It’s the live version that was recorded at our camp week at Ridgecrest. In fact, you are the crowd in the background who are singing. Click the following link to purchase the song:
Home Sweet Home
We’re on the road and just entered Tennessee. We are about four hours from home without any delays. We hope to see you all when we get home around 8:30pm.
It’s been a great mission trip and ending it last night at the Arch in St. Louis was great – not to mention a real bed for the first time in eight nights at the Days Inn.
See you all in a few hours at Morningside!
By the way, the cross has been moving among the group this week and was passed in this order: Rebekah Dodds, Michelle Gallman, Kaitlyn Ridings, Brittany Eberhart, Mark Mannigan, Martha Lee Lancaster, Mark Alexander, and is now around the neck of Jody Welch.
