The psalms are such rich and amazing writings. As a singer, I love them because it’s through song that I speak to God best. This section of scripture includes some of the most famous songs…including the 23rd Psalm. But the words that stand out most to me this morning are from Psalm 20:14… “May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your site, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” That’s the prayer of my heart today as we go out to ministry sites for our last day here at Mission Fuge Charleston.
Today at site JD, Aaron & Samantha’s Evangelism team led a guy to Christ at the beach. They were so excited.
Tonight ends our third full day of ministry here in Charleston. It’s been a good day. After a 15hr day of camp and ministry we ended with a little craziness and fun at night life. Students dressed up like famous people and there was a variety show. LeAnn was Betsy Ross, Ashley was dressed as Daphnie, Nathan was dressed as Freddy, Elisabeth was dressed as Amelia Earhart, Steven Chen was dressed as ?, Justin Briscoe was dressed as ?, and Aaron Ross was dressed as the famous Nathan Neighbors. Also, our very own, Janna McClure and Jacob Balmer performed. Check out the video.
Friendship is a much needed part of our lives. Being at camp on this mission trip this week reminds me again of the importance of good friends. Fortunately our students and adults are not like Job’s friends. They are solid friends to each other. In this section of scripture Job’s friends gave him some pretty bad advise and made some wrong judgements about Job’s life. In most cases they should have just stayed quiet and been there to comfort Job. Reading these accounts of Job’s friends makes me grateful for the solid brothers and sisters in Christ I have who offer encouragement, friendship and accountability.
