Tonight we went with about 30 of our students and adults to see the new movie, To Save A Life. It was awesome.  I hope that if you didn’t get to see it – that you’ll make plans to see it this weekend.  It’s a wonderful movie that so clearly depicts the lives of teens and the struggles they face.  More than anything, it does such a great job of presenting the gospel in a loving and compassionate way.  Don’t miss this movie.

Students, if you’ve seen it or if you went with us tonight and you need to talk – let me know.   Know that we’re trying very hard at Morningside to be the kind of church like Chris talked about in the movie.  We hope that this youth ministry is a safe place for you to come and be accepted.  We love you and hope to see you Sunday.

Ski Trip 2010

Yesterday we took a group of students to Sapphire Valley, NC.  This was my first trip to these slopes and I was very impressed.  The folks at Sapphire Valley are awesome and do a good job taking care of groups.  All the teenagers loved it.  Even those who had never skied we’re doing well by the end of the night.  Thanks to all of our chaperons and especially Mrs. Carole for driving the bus.  Check out this little video of (what Mark would call) throw-up footage from our trip.

We had a great parent/youth meeting on Sunday night.  I introduced all the upcoming events, trips, and weekly services for students at Morningside.  If you missed this meeting or didn’t pick up a copy of the Winter Youth Newsletter you can download it by clicking here.  This four page newsletter outlines all the great things going on through the end of the school year and some important summer dates.  Be sure to check out the details of our Mside Out Sunday night meetings.  These mission focused lessons and outreach projects will lead to receiving a free day at Walt Disney World for our 2010 Spring Break Retreat to Orlando.  You won’t want to miss this Spring Retreat.  It will by my fifth Spring Breakt trip with Morningside.
