Ashley and I are in Nashville for the National Youth Workers Convention. It’s been great so far. Yesterday we were blessed by great music from Mercy Me, a great message from Francis Chan, and a great worship experience with the David Crowder Band. I snapped this picture on my cell phone of David after the service. This morning I’m on my way way to a “praying the scriptures” experience and then into a full day of conferences and time hanging out with Ashley. Have a wonderful day in worship tomorrow.
As many of you know, I used an illustration yesterday in my sermon about jumping the curb near the church on my bike. Yesterday I road my bike to church and used the bike as part of the sermon illustration. As I was coming up Pine Street I tried jumping off a side walk to the street and I did fine, but then it didn’t go so great getting back on the next sidewalk by the church. Well guess what I saw today? The great folks at the City of Spartanburg were putting in a sloped entrance to the curb I busted on. I was so suprised to see them out there working on it that I took a picture of it on my cell phone on the way home from work. Maybe as I cried out to the Lord, “help me make this curb.” He heard me – and just helped me in His timing…not mine. Ha Ha. Just kidding – but maybe?
This Sunday is our big High Attendance Day at Morningside. All youth and college students are invited for a great day of Bible Study, Worship, Wade’s Lunch & Games at Barnet Park. Rain, snow, cold, or whatever – we’re still having it. If the weather is bad – we’ll have an alternate location. Come to the church at 9:45am and we will go from there. Invite your friends – see you all on Sunday!
