Yesterday was an awesome day because…
It was Easter – the day that all we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was Sunday – the day we worship as a family at church.God loved us so much to send his Son to die for our sin and save us from the sin that separates us from himself. What more could I ask for? God has blessed me not only with new life, but an abundant life – a life with a amazing wife and two great little boys. The four of us get the privilege of being in a loving extended family, having awesome friends, and serving in a great church. Hope you all had a Happy Easter! Students, this weekend is going to be awesome at church. I know that it’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been up to my eyes in youth room renovations. But, it’s finally coming together and we’re opening it this weekend on Palm Sunday. Don’t miss it – 9:45am this Sunday Morning. The room looks awesome and dozens of folks came together to make it happen over the last four weeks. I hope to see you there!
More than for the room, I hope you come to church this week to be with the Lord. The worship and the message in Sunday School will be focused on our hearts and our praise as we consider Palm Sunday. In addition, we will have a guest (Drew Martin) from SCBEST speaking for a few minutes about the Bible classes his organization is offering in your local schools next year. We will meet all as one group this week at 9:45am in the new room. The donuts will be “hot and now” and the band will be playing. Don’t miss it!
It’s been a week since my last blog because it’s been crazy. Since last week I’ve not only done all the regular tasks of ministry (such as worship, Sunday school, discipleship groups, mid-week, creative arts, staff meetings, time with students, Poland trip planning, Spring Break Retreat planning…), I’ve also been knee deep in youth room renovations. We are moving youth small group rooms around in our church and having them painted. In addition, we’re totally overhauling the large group space. We are having it painted, new counters, new stage, new lighting and sound, new furniture, and an overall new look for the space. We’re about half way through with the project, but it’s really wearing on me. I’m so excited about the finished product, but it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. My prayer is that in the end, the space will be a great place for students to gather, worship God, and bring their unchurched friends.
