Happy 2013! It’s a New Year with fresh opportunities to connect with student and help them connect with the Lord. In the January edition of the Parent Link newsletter we’re looking at texting. Check out these articles for tips at helping your students navigate life in a world bombarded by cell phones and find moments together where you as families can connect with the Lord. As we walk into 2013, it’s my prayer that we take this opportunity to become more like Christ, strengthen our families and introduce those around us to our Savior.
This weekend our Morningside Church App was released by the Apple Store for iPhone. I’m so pumped to introduce this app to you all. Aaron Ross and I have been dreaming this app up for the past six months. Thanks Aaron, for all of your hard work bringing this app to life!
The app has three main functions: scriptures by topic, prayer requests, and church website navigation. The best part of the app is the ability to navigate hundreds of scriptures categorized by dozens of topics. You can read what God’s Word has to say on topics ranging from abortion to faith to worry. In addition to reading these scriptures, you can also share them via Facebook or Twitter. This isn’t an exhaustive list, but a number of verses are listed per topic.
There are still some kinks that we want to work out and more scriptures and topics that we want to add, but for now we’re really excited that Apple has published the app. Download it today!
