This weekend was great! Our students participating in a 30 Hour Famine. We gave up food for the weekend, we spent time with the Lord, we served at the Soup Kitchen and at TOTAL Ministries, and we gave nearly $500 to the World Hunger Offering. God is so good and has taught us so much from this event. Thanks to all of our adult volunteers and our youth band for helping make it a success. Be on the look out later this week for a youtube video on my blog from the Famine. Mark is working on it now.
As you think back over the weekend, never forget the words of the scripture that we closed with yesterday. Matthew 25:31-46 tells the story of Jesus’ parable of Sheep and Goats. May we always remember that the way we treat others is the way we are treating our Savior. “…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
World Hunger is a huge issue and it almost seems impossible to stop – but you made a difference in the lives of the 150-200 people who were fed at the Soup Kitchen Saturday and your giving will help feed dozens around the globe.
