Today we celebrate the National Holiday – Veterans Day. It’s an opportunity to thank those who have served and do servce in our Armed Forces protecting us and our freedoms in America. How can we say thank you for their sacrifice?
While in Florence for a youth leadership meeting today we had the chance to go by the National Cemetery to see where my dad, Marion Wayne Neighbors is buried. He died a few years ago and never got the chance to meet his grandchildren. However, Anderson and Ellis call him “Pop” Wayne. He was a Marine Veteran who served over 10 years in the military and two tours of duty in Vietnam in the heat of the War. Among his many awards he earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
We love and are proud of our Veterans – especially Pop Wayne!
