Proverbs 20:22 – Ecclesiastes 2:26

Here are two things that stand our to me about today’s reading:

1.  Proverbs 31:10-31 – This is the description of a godly woman.  These are special verses to Ashley and I because these are the scripture verses that are engraved in her wedding band.  Ashley is a great example of these passages.  She’s a wonderful wife, a loving mother and a godly woman.

2.  Ecclesiastes 1-2 – This book is traditionally thought to be written by Solomon.  Though I’m no biblical scholar, the beginning of this book comes across a little negative.  The writer describes wisdom as meaningless.  Remember, Solomon was the wisest person to ever live.  So, I guest he would be the one to say whether it was worth it or not.  The way I read it – it seems like Solomon is saying that you can have everything in the world (riches, wisdom, pleasures, and hard work) but without the Lord it’s all worthless.  Ecclesiastes 2:25 says, “for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?”
