Ephesians 1 & 2

Ephesians 1 & 2

Today we leave for Lake City to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We’re going with 50 students and adults to serve four home owners under the direction of Home Works of America. As we go, we will be spending time studying Ephesians & Philippians.

It never ceases to amaze me how God’s Word always speaks into our day to day living. Every time I open God’s Word there is Truth that helps me navigate exactly what I’m going through that day. It’s because God’s Word is living and active. The Holy Spirit helps us see Truth and apply daily.

Today in Ephesians 2 Paul is encouraging the church that the building is not the temple. They are the building. God is building his Kingdom not with brick and mirror – but in the hearts of his people. As we go, may we remember it’s not about the houses. It’s about the people. Houses need repair, that’s for sure. And we will serve well and help repair homes for the glory of God and for the benefit of the homeowner. But what’s most important is the hearts of the people we will serve. Help us Lord to serve you well this week and to speak life into the hearts of the people of Lake City.

“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” – Ephesians 2:19-22
