Today we begin our journey through Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians. The Church in Thessalonica is mostly likely the first letter Paul wrote. We read about how that church began in Acts 17. This letter is a follow up to the church after that visit. Paul loved the people there and was writing to encourage them in their faith. He speaks such words of encouragement and love to the people of that church in this first chapter.
“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 NIV
Who in the church are you showing love and encouragement to these days? Have you called them, written a letter or made a visit to that person? May we never stop loving one another and helping each other move closer to Jesus.
