Beach Days

What a great time!  This is one of our vacation weeks this year.  Ashley and the boys and I are staying at Edisto Beach at the Littlejohn Retreat which is owned by some good friend of ours at Morningside.  It is a much needed time of relaxation and family time before the busy and stressfull summer of youth ministry hits full swing.  So far, the weather could not be more perfect and we are having a wonderful time together as a family.  No real agenda – just hanging out, swimming and spending fun times together.  Here are a few good pictures from yesterday at the beach and at the James Island Splash Zone Water Park.  Anderson and Ellis wanted to show off thier red tungs after a icee treat on a hot day at the water park.  They’re having so much fun together.  We’ll try to blog more later.  Hope you’re all having a good week – even if it’s not on vacation.

Drive Game

Well, we’re on vacation in Edisto this week, but I wanted to try catching up on my blog.  This past Friday (May 23rd) we took some of the college students at Morningside to the Greenville Drive Baseball game.  Anderson went with us for his first real baseball game.  Here is photo off of my cell phone from the evening.  He was ready to go by the bottom of the 1st inning.  But, after cotton candy, hot dogs, ice cream, and some time playing ball with dad behind the bleachers – he was ok.  The thing he loved most of all was the fireworks at the end of the game!  I loved having him with us for the night.  It’s one of the ways I try balancing ministry and family time.  He loved hanging out with the college students too.  We will try to update soon with photos of us at the beach.  Got to go for now – time to play on the beach with Ashley and the boys.

End of School

Anderson is in his last week at preschool for the year.  He’s finishing 3K in Ms. Susan & Mrs. Shana’s class.  It’s been a wonderful year of growth for Anderson.  It’s like he’s just become a little man overnight.  He’s gained so much knowledge, learned so much about God, and is doing much better with his social interaction and behavior.  We can’t thank his teachers enough for all they have done this year.  In addition, we thank Mrs. Becky Pizor, our Preschool Partnership Director, for all her hard work this year and for her years of service at Morningside.  We will miss you so much greeting us each morning and afternoon at our car.  But most of all, we will miss Mrs. Becky’s strong leadership of the program.  Thank you Morningside Preschool for caring so well for Anderson.
