Ps. 135:1 – Pr. 6:35

If you say that God does not work all things together for his good, I’m really going to have to disagree with you, especially after today. Early this morning, 3:00 A.M. to be exact, I stood with hands grasped, eyes closed, and ears alert to the prayer spoken by one of my most favorite people in the world, Marci Gatewood. In Marci’s prayer she prayed for comfort for our team as we left this morning on our journey to Honduras. The blessing that Marci spoke over us came directly from Psalm 139: 9-10. So, when Nathan came up to me and made the observation that the words she spoke came directly from our reading for today, I knew this was God and He was telling us something. Verses 9-10 read “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast”. He wants to be with us wherever we are. He wants to love us and comfort us in every season and in every moment. These verses remind me how God isn’t ashamed of where I am at, he just wants to meet me where I am and love me then and there. WOW! Let’s just take a step back now and think; how crazy is it that we have a God who will be with us, no matter where we are. He wants to be there for us, to guide us, to love us, and give to us the marvelous plans he has for us. These verses really remind me how big and mighty God really is. Right now, I am confident He is sitting right with me on this plane and I believe with that same confidence, wherever you are right now, He’s there with you too! God has taught me so many things and has reminded me of so many things in todays Bible reading but here are three that really stick out:
1. I don’t think I’ll ever really understand how amazing He is. We worship a God we will never truly be able to understand, but how amazing is it that we DO worship a God who is so unbelievably amazing, understanding him would be too great for our human minds.
2. He’s comforting me, just as He promised because, every promise He has made is true
3. This Bible plan is more than a challenge. This plan is more than reading a book. This plan is reading a love letter. This “challenge” is giving me more in return than I could ever try to put back into it.
If your falling behind, pick the Word back up and begin again because, there are so many more love stories, miracles, and wisdom God still wants to tell YOU about. To restate and answer my original claim, God works everything together for His glory. Our passages for today were so comforting and so reassuring to a girl who really needs God’s comforting arms right now and it’s enough and it will always be enough. Don’t turn away from Him. Don’t turn from His word.
Please be in prayer for the 43 of us who are in Honduras, doing the work of HIM.
