We are only a short six weeks away from our Poland Mission trip and things are beginning to come together. It’s awesome to see God’s hand in all of the preparations, but know that we need to stay in prayer. I am feeling the weight of all the logistics still left to plan, but excited about the outcome. I just received this publicity poster that was designed by the Baptist Union in Warsaw. It’s advertising the camp that we are leading to potential Polish teenagers and college students. The theme for the camp is “Ignite” and our Bible study will be centered around igniting our passion to be fully devoted followers or Christ. We will have Bible study topics including: the cost of discipleship, accountable relationships, scripture, prayer, and priorities. Keep our team here at Morningside and the Polish team in your prayers as we prepare. Also, pray that this publicity piece will help encourage Polish students from around Poland to attend this life-changing camp.
Well, it’s official! Though many of you who know Ellis might have thought he was already in his “terrible 2’s”, he was officially not there until this week. His birthday was Thursday and we’ve been celebrating ever since. We had a party for lunch with Bebop and Nana at the house – then a party for dinner with some friends and neighbors. Then on Saturday, we had his big party at Happy Hollow Park. He had lot’s of fun at his Cowboy Party and loved the gun and holster he got to wear. Somehow he knew exactly what to do with a firearm (scary).
Ashley always says that I write alot of blogs up about Anderson – but this one is about Ellis. We love him so much and only joke about his terrible two’s. But really he and Anderson are wonderful little boys (or big boys as they would say). For more pictures from the party and the whole weekend – check out my Facebook page.
Tonight we celebrated with Anderson and tons of other kids the accomplishments they made this year in their scripture memory at Morningside Baptist Church. It’s been so great to see our little “Cubbie” learning his Bible verses each week and eagerly ready for Sunday Nights at church. Ashley and I are amazed at what he already knows about God’s Word. Thank you to Coby, Kristy, and Mrs. Magurie, for all you did to help Anderson’s class this year in Cubbies.
