Tonight’s discipleship groups started out well. We had great groups tonight. Our Guys groups as well as the JV and Varsity Girl’s groups all went well tonight. Thanks to the parents who provided the meals and thank you to all of our great leaders who hosted and taught our students tonight. You’re the best! (esp. that cute mom at 109 Monroe – ha ha).
Our parent’s group started tonight too. I hope that this group will be helpful to you as you seek to be Kingdom focused parents and as you seek to lead your teenagers closer to God. May the coming weeks in your time at home and in our times together in our small groups reap great rewards for each of you. May the things you read this semester and the power of God’s Word transform you and your family!
Please keep me posted on how your time at home doing the “30 Days” is going and share your successes and your struggles with us. I’m praying for you all!
Yesterday, the whole family piled in the car to go get hair cuts for Anderson and I. Great Clips has just opened near our house and they are running a special. For $2.99, they will cut your hair. Being the thrifty guy I am, I thought – “wow, now that’s a deal.” So we got in line and got our hair cuts. My hair came out ok – but Anderson is another story. The lady misunderstood our idea of short. She took the electric clipers straight up the top before we could stop her and “scalped” him! It took all Ashley had to keep herself from crying before we could get out of the shop. Well, a day later it’s still sort, but we’re getting use to it and hope it will grow out by the time we take him for his Easter pictures with Ellis. Great Clips really ought to say “$2.99 worth of hair left” – instead of $2.99 for a hair cut.
I know…it’s already the first week of January, but I need to blog about our wonderful Christmas. We traveled alot and saw many family and friends. Between Spartanburg, Lancaster, Columbia, Florence, Edisto Beach, and Hendersonville, our holidays were full. More than anything it was wondeful to spend Christmas together celebrating the birth of our Savior. Ashley and the boys are so amazing. I am so blessed! This year Anderson said for months that he wanted Santa to bring an “orange fish”, candy, and presents. Well…he got his wish. Santa brought him a great little gold fish, which he calls Nemo. Ellis is too young to really know what’s going on – but Anderson likes playing with Ellis’ toys (I think he likes them a little more that Ellis does.) Ashley and I wish all of you a Happy New Year and pray God’s blessing on you all. Keep sharing His love!
