This week has been fantastic. We came, served, grew closer to God and one another. It has been a life impacting time for us all – but most of all for Nic Moore and Steve Smith. Last night after the closing celebration I was able to pray with Nic to receive Christ. He is so excited about beginning a relationship with the Lord. Steve Smith has been changed by God as well. Last night he prayed to rededicated his life. He was given a new physical life after his fall off the roof last year at his work site – but this week he has a renewed spiritual life. He already new Christ – but now he is following Him with his whole heart. What a week! We are leaving this morning to return to Spartanburg to live out the commitments made this week. See you soon!
What a wonderful day! We completed the church work site and have come very close to finishing the roofing site. The team is coming together – working well – and caring for each other. I am so excited that Steve Smith decided to stay through untill tomorrow. He has had a great time and gotten close to all of us. Tonight we went to worship with Elkmont Baptist. It was a very moving experience. We heard special music from the youth, adults, our women’s ensemble, men’s quartet, Amy Mobley, and our youth did the Agnus Dei skit. We heard testimonies from Janice and Tori before I brought the message for the service. “Surely the presence of the Lord was in that place…” (following the service – Chris passed the cross to Dr. Dan – a very touching moment)

We’ll we’re half way through with our trip and things are going great. We’ve already covered the roof with paper and come close to finishing the ramp project. Our door-to-door outreach each day is going well and the weather is perfect. Everyone is doing great and no one is hurt (too badly). We’ve had a few close calls on the roof and we left Nic for a few minutes at the hotel by mistake – but other than that …ha ha…it’s all good! Tomorrow we’ll almost complete the work and we will be leading worship at a local church. Keep us in your prayers and we will see you soon. These are a few pictures from our work and our fun night tonight at the Ocoee river. PS – in case you’re keeping track – the cross was passed to Brittany from Katie before the trip and Brittany passed it to Tori to take to Tennesse. She passed it to Holly who passed to Edward and now to Chris.
